Railroads

We have provided Engineering, Risk Mitigation, and Project Delivery Services to the Short Line and Class I railroad industry for many years. Also, during our 50 years of working for heavy industry, we have been involved in hundreds of railroad loading, unloading, sitework and siding design projects for our industrial customers. We understand the logistics behind rail movement and appreciate the importance of sound operating conditions with respect to production, schedule and safety. Our services include fuel and industrial wastewater maintenance programs, bridge management programs, regulatory compliance, structural and environmental engineering, bulk solids and liquids loading/unloading, and inspection services. And, our staff has completed designs for grading, drainage, trackwork, storage tanks, pumps, piping, paving, buildings, electrical power, controls and safety systems associated with railroad facilities.

Our Asset Integrity team provides expertise in developing the Bridge Management Programs in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations. Documents and deliverables represent the standards provided by the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way Association (AREMA) as well as the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA), ensuring accurate interpretation across the industry. All documents are stored on a secured web-based database, enabling restricted access to owners and FRA officials. We also fly drones to inspect yard facilities, SPCC and other physical aspects of railroad infrastructure.
