The Orbital Engineering metals and coke experience totals hundreds of man years and thousands of projects in structural, mechanical and EI&C design. Our staff is comprised of numerous heavy industry trained engineers and inspectors, many of which are past employees of the metals and coke producers. Orbital provides inspection services utilizing drones for elevated and difficult access areas as well as detailed visual inspections and maintains an experienced engineering staff to design the follow up repairs. Our major areas of design expertise include material handling, blast furnaces, steel producing and casters, coke batteries, hot strip mills, finishing and coating lines, water and air emission equipment, utilities, industrial buildings and cranes, railroads, boilers and tanks, pumps and compressors, substations and motor control centers, PLC and instrumentation. Project design from P&ID’s through equipment specifications and detailed installation drawings as well as project management and construction management services can be provided.
