Steel Making

Orbital’s engineering staff has completed numerous design efforts for steel making clients from desulfurization systems through caster upgrades. Our personnel have expertise in design, equipment selection, start-up and operation of environmental systems for gas cleaning and water recycling. Completed piping designs range from oxygen supply to continuous caster cooling water system upgrades. Mechanical project experience includes tundish upgrades and ladle and tundish QA/QC vendor fabrication audits. Baghouse installation designs have been completed for degassers and desulfurization stations. Recent projects also include torpedo car track upgrades for improved traffic flow and productivity.
