Underground Gas Storage Facility – Preliminary Phase Plant Upgrade and Increase Compression Capacity

Orbital provided preliminary engineering design for the upgrade of an Underground Gas Storage Facility. Working with the client, Orbital completed the design of this project through FEL-1 and FEL-2 stages, with option evaluation and preliminary engineering. The project involved replacement of the facilities existing compression equipment to increase availability and improve reliability. The study also involved an analysis of the remainder of the facility to determine what other systems and equipment at the site would also require replacement. Cost estimates, preliminary equipment layouts, P&IDs and preliminary Electrical design as completed, along with a design basis and a project execution plan.
